Hong Kong Disneyland Under Tilt Shift World in French Link Stitch Binding
Project type
Photobook Binding
Date
Sept 2025
Location
Hong Kong
As is well known, everyone takes photos at Disneyland, including film photography, digital photography and mobile phone photography, to capture their enjoyment and beautiful moments to share with friends. Everyone knows there are many facilities in every Disneyland which are similar to the architectures and buildings in Hong Kong, Asia, Europe, America, and the rest of the world. Which means I can take the Disneyland facilities photos by using the technique of Tilt-Shift Photography. For Tilt-Shift Photography, as the camera must keep horizontal while shooting photos, a tripod should be used.
You may ask one question.
Why can I use TRIPOD in Hong Kong Disneyland without SECURITY GUARD stops?
I have checked the Park Rules and Regulations from the official Hong Kong Disneyland website; the related
restricted item is ‘Large Tripod’. In my understanding, video tripods are not allowed to be brought into the park, and camera tripods should be allowed. I think everyone doesn’t believe the camera tripod can be used in Hong Kong Disneyland.
The raw files of this project, ‘Hong Kong Disneyland Under Tilt-Shift World’, were taken in early June 2023
with Tilt-Shift photography and a camera tripod. I pass the security check without the serious check after entering the park. After that, I took the photos of the castle in the middle of the park for warm-up and testing the sensitivity of security guards. When I placed my camera on my tripod and adjusted the height of the centre column, the security guard came and said I could use the tripod but to make sure that I don’t make it taller than me. I immediately felt that my understanding of the official park rules was absolutely correct.
If the park rules change in the future, I hope that all stakeholders can respect each other and make concessions in a fair environment.
